Outside The Burrow

The Burrow

One of The Burrow’s most endearing features is its relationship with the surrounding countryside and the way it welcomes it in, with it’s open outlook and restful feeling.  The Burrow itself is set within its own large garden, which is very private, and offers views all around, of the rolling Devon countryside. The garden is enclosed by a mixture of ancient Devon banks, and modern stock fencing which borders bustling hedgerows filled with beautiful dog roses in summer. We welcome nature in, and much of the garden furniture also encourages the natural world, with beautifully lichen encrusted  benches, and fruit laden trees. We also operate a “no mow May” to encourage the wild plants in the lawn to grow up and flower, adding colour and attracting pollinating insects and other wildlife.

On warm sunny days, why not take a glass wine, and choose a chair on the deep, shady front porch.  Here, you can soak up the unhurried atmosphere and while away the time with a good book, perhaps watch nature, or keep an eye on your children playing in the large open garden.

Perhaps you will choose to bask yourself on one of the sun loungers on your private sun deck, or have a family BBQ in the dedicated BBQ area.  There are  two raised platform areas that are just perfect for dining alfresco.  There are plenty of outside seating areas, which have been perfectly positioned as to take full advantage of the amazing westward views, and spectacular sunsets we are afforded at Burrow Wood Farm.  It is a timeless rural lifestyle, much to be treasured.
